OAF in collaboration with NIWA takes Winners of the first Maritime Virtual E-Quiz on a boat ride.
As part of the package promised to winners of the first nationwide Virtual Maritime Quiz, Hon. Violet Olaitan Williams, Founder and Convener of the Ocean Ambassadors Foundation OAF, organized a boat ride with the Lagos Area manager National Inland Waterways Authority NIWA, Engr. Sarat Braimah, who doubles as the OAF Girl Child 2021 first quarter role model.
The boat ride was a strategic means of sensitization for the students on the world of maritime; to know about the wealth of the seas and opportunities available for them to explore, especially the GIRL CHILD.
The trip aimed at improving their knowledge of the maritime sector after the last quiz with the ocean Ambassadors Bottom- Top Approach Catch Them Young Initiative which is driven out of a passion to get children interested in the sector at early ages most especially the girl child.
The BOTTOM TO TOP approach by OAF will make the students desirous of studying maritime and carve a niche at young ages.
The trip allowed the students to ask relevant questions about the waterways and the Blue Economy to satisfy their curiosity on the various areas of the waterways.
The students had Engr. Seyi Ezekiel from NIWA who came with the area manager, onboard to enlighten them.
Indeed, it was an educative, fun-filled, successful event.
The boat ride was a success with the students elated and showed gratitude to Engr. Sarat Braimah, Hon. Violet Olaitan Williams, Engr. Seyi Ezekiel and the entire Ocean Ambassadors team. The day ended with photographs.
Once again, we thank the management for hosting the CATCH THEM YOUNG STUDENTS (NIWA AMBASSADORS)who will one day take over the management of the authority.
